Concept
Squaring the Circle is an ancient mathematical riddle which developed into a philosophical metaphor. Today, the phrase is generally used to denote the wanting of the impossible or trying to solve the unsolvable. Reawakening this desire to solve he unsolvable becomes pertinent in context to the socio-political unrest of the present.
For this performance, we have explored various interpretations of the phrase through movement using the dualities which are inherent within the riddle: conflict between desire and thought, instinct and rationality, the comprihensable and the incomprehensible.
